1. Who we are

Text Compare! is a service of Intrepid Codeworks, Salland 1, 1948 RE Beverwijk, the Netherlands (KvK 56435347, VAT NL001634275B96, email （请开启 JavaScript 以查看电子邮件地址）). These terms are an agreement between you and Intrepid Codeworks ("Text Compare!", "we", "us"), and apply to everyone who uses text-compare.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you subscribe to Pro, you are asked to agree to them again at checkout.

2. The service

• Free: compare texts and open Word, Excel and PDF files up to 3 MB, with ads.
• Free account: everything above, and each Pro feature a few times a month for free. How many times is shown on the site.
• Pro: a paid subscription with all Pro features without limits, larger files and comparisons, and no ads.

We work hard to keep Text Compare! available and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that every difference is shown the way you expect. Always check important results yourself. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a Pro feature that is an important part of what you pay for, you can cancel and we refund the unused part of your current period.

3. Your account

You log in with a link we email you, with Google, or with a passkey. Keep access to your email address and devices safe: whoever can use them can use your account. An account is personal; a Pro subscription is for one person.

To subscribe to Pro you must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian. If you subscribe for a company or organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to do so on its behalf. The rules in these terms that protect consumers, such as section 7, then don't apply.

4. Your texts and files

Your texts and files stay yours. We only use them to show you the comparison, and we don't store them; see the privacy policy. Don't use Text Compare! for anything illegal, or for texts you are not allowed to process.

5. Pro: price and payment

• The price is shown before you subscribe and includes VAT. Payment is handled by our payment provider Stripe.
• Your subscription renews automatically every period (for example every month), and is charged at the start of each period, until you cancel.
• We sometimes try out different prices. The price shown to you when you subscribe is the price you pay.
• We may offer promotions, such as a discount for a limited time. The conditions of a promotion, such as how long it lasts and which periods the discount applies to, are shown with it. When the discount ends, the normal price applies.
• We may change the price of a running subscription. We tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then.
• If a payment fails, we and Stripe try again for a while. If it keeps failing, your subscription ends.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time on your account page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for; after that you are not charged again. Apart from section 7, we don't refund the rest of a period you have already started.

7. 14 days to change your mind

If you live in the EU and use Pro as a consumer, you can withdraw from your subscription within 14 days after you subscribe, without giving a reason. Because you asked at checkout for Pro to start right away, we refund your first payment minus the part for the days you had Pro until you told us. We refund within 14 days of hearing from you, to the payment method you used.

8. Fair use

Don't misuse Text Compare!: no attempts to break or overload it, to get around limits or payment, or to use it automatically at a large scale without our permission (ask us if you need this). If someone does, we may block their access or end their account. If we end a Pro subscription without it being your fault, we refund the unused part.

9. Our site and your feedback

Text Compare!, including the site, the software, the name and the logo, belongs to us. These terms give you the right to use it as described here, nothing more.

We're always happy to hear your feedback and ideas. If you send us any, we may use them freely, for example to improve Text Compare!, without paying for them or naming you.

10. Liability

Text Compare! helps you spot differences, but you decide what to do with the result. We are not liable for decisions made based on a comparison, or for indirect damage such as lost profit or lost data. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the damage happened. We are also not liable if we can't keep our promises because of something outside our control, such as a large outage at our hosting provider. None of this limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters for Pro subscribers, we email them at least 30 days before it applies. If the change is to their disadvantage, they can cancel within those 30 days and we refund the unused part of their current period. The date at the top shows the latest version.

12. Law and disputes

Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country. If something goes wrong, please email us first; we'd much rather solve it together. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you as a consumer the right to go to a court in your own country.

13. Other

If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies, and the invalid part is replaced by a valid rule that comes as close as possible to what was meant.
